US Navy Cruser, USS Canberra. Taken in 1970. One of the missions of the 220th RAC was to adjust and control navy gunfire. The naval guns would come in close just south of the DMZ and gladly shoot at anything we could fine for them. I'm not sure but I think this was the Also the 220th RAC received the Navy Presidential Unit Citation for missions conducted with the USS New Jersey. The New Jersey carried 16" guns.

Sometime in 1970, Fire Base Fuller was turned over to the ARVN. It was located just south and close to the DMZ. Very steep on all sides, except the southeast, which looked like the only avenue of approach. I always thought it would be extremely difficult and costly for the enemy to attach the location. Wrong! Shortly after the ARVN took over, the firebase was overrun by the NVA.

The other image is a firebase in northern I-Corp. I can't remember the name of it. Maybe someone will recognize it.
